Canadian Advantage: Regulated, clean, and safe water

Canada’s farmers and maltsters draw water from rivers, lakes, aquifers and wells.  Canada’s unique geology and topography make it the world’s largest supply of fresh water.  Our water supplies are the envy of the world – regulated, clean and safe.  Protecting and preserving this resource in an ongoing Canadian concern.

MIAC member malthouses have secured water rights agreements that supply their present and future needs.  Canadian maltsters continually refine and update production methods to ensure optimal use of this most precious commodity.  Tracking water volumes in order to reduce consumption, recycling systems, and end-of-pipe water purification and processes are examples of the types of water conservation efforts made in MIAC member plants.
